Follow the link to learn morePeople who used to work at the damaged Severnaya coalmine will be employed by others and their salaries will remain unchanged, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said.
"The coalmine won't be operating for the next few months, but employment will be secured with neighboring mines in Vorkuta. Somebody will be invited to move to another place. In any case, regardless of particular employment, the salaries will be paid in full for a few months," Dvorkovich said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on March 2.
The total amount of money to be paid out to families of those killed in the accident at the Severnaya coalmine and to the injured is currently close to 19 million rubles.
"The first payments have been made now. The total amount of the payments due is almost 19 million rubles, as of 11:00 a.m. today," Dvorkovich said.
He reaffirmed to the head of state that all the payments due following the accident will be exercised within next few days.
