"The pilot ejected himself; he is alive and healthy. The plane was not carrying ammunition. There are neither casualties nor damage on the ground," the department said.
An air safety commission of the Russian Defense Ministry is preparing to visit the crash scene, it said.
The Chernigovsky district administration confirmed the crash of a military aircraft to Interfax.
"Yes, a plane has crashed. We have no details available as of yet. We are verifying the consequences," a representative of the district administration said.
The Primorye territory administration told Interfax that task forces, including those from the territorial civil defense and emergency situations department, had been sent to the crash scene.
