China is ready to import about 27 million tons of oil from Russia in 2016, Sergey Andronov, Vice-President of Russia’s pipeline operator Transneft told TASS.
Russia exported 26.88 million tons of oil to China in 2015.
“16.5 million tons will be delivered via the Skovorodino-Mohe pipeline, 7 million tons will be supplied across Kazakhstan and around 3.5 million tons will be exported within the intergovernmental agreement via the port of Kozmino,” Andronov told the news agency.
China is looking to stock up on its crude reserves while global energy prices remain low.
