Third line of energy bridge to Crimea commissioned on April 14

The third line of the energy bridge to Crimea was commissioned, which will allow for eliminating power shortages on the peninsula, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said.

"Starting on January 1 we no longer receive power from Ukraine. Two lines of the energy bridge have operated until present, 400 MW came from the unified energy system in the Crimea Federal District. And today, on April 14, the third line of the energy bridge was commissioned, which increased the opportunities for cross flow from the unified energy system of Russia to Crimea by another 200 MW. That is, already today power shipments amount to 600 MW," he told journalists on April 14.

Novak said that at the next stage over the course of the next two to three weeks yet another line for 200 MW will be commissioned, this will provide opportunities for cross flow of a total of up to 800 MW from the Russia unified energy system.
