Follow the link to learn moreRussian President Vladimir Putin's mention of the relation between the German newspaper Suddeutsche Zeitung and the U.S. bank Goldman Sachs resulted from the mistake of those who prepared information materials for the president, Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov has said.
"Rather, this is our mistake, rather, this is my mistake, [a mistake] of those who prepared the information materials. They actually contained unverified information - it was not double-checked before being submitted to the president - regarding the owners of Suddeutsche Zeitung," he told reporters.
"We apologize to this edition," Peskov said.
The press asked Peskov to explain Putin's statement made during the Q&A session that the edition was linked to the U.S. bank Goldman Sachs.
