Russian Foreign Ministry expects all sides to comply with Syria deal

Moscow remains adherent to the agreement with the United States on the cessation of hostilities in Syria, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has said.

"We confirm our adherence to the Russian-U.S. bilateral agreements and UN Security Council resolution 2268 on the cessation of hostilities, which has been unanimously passed on their basis. We are expecting all participating sides to display an equally serious attitude," she said at a press briefing.

In this context she regretted "the hasty reports of certain Western media outlets on the alleged failure of the Syria truce."

"In fact, we are dealing with a desperate attempt of terrorist organizations to thwart the political process," Zakharova said.
