Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has declined to comment on media reports that Russian forces in Syria allegedly opened fire on an Israeli military airplane.
"I will not comment because it is a newspaper report and I do not want to speak about it," Peskov told reporters on April 22 when answering the relevant question.
He also refused to comment on media reports claiming movement of Russian artillery weapons on the outskirts of Aleppo in Syria.
"Our reaction is the same as it was to the reports of Israeli newspapers," Peskov said.
"I do not want to discuss it," he added.
"Newspapers write about a lot of things, and in this case we do not see any need to respond to it in any way," Peskov said.
Israel's newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth wrote on April 22 that Russian forces in Syria have fired at least twice on Israeli military aircraft. The unsourced report gave no dates or locations for the incidents nor any indication Israeli planes were hit.
