Boris Tsagarayev, the head of the Russian Culture Ministry's construction, reconstruction, and restoration directorate, has been detained in a criminal case dealing with major embezzlement in the ministry, a law enforcement source told Interfax on Friday evening.

The source did not specify what charges might be brought against Tsagarayev.
