The Russian Olympic Committee has spent over 500 million rubles ($7.8 million) on preparing the national team for the Olympic Games in Rio-de-Janeiro, Russian Olympic Committee President Alexander Zhukov has said.
"The Olympic Committee has a program of preparations for the Rio Games, in addition to the programs of the government and the Sports Ministry," Zhukov told reporters on April 25.
"We have spent more than 500 million rubles," the Russian Olympic Committee president said.
The Russian delegation at the Olympics will comprise over 800 members.
"We will have a big team in Rio de Janeiro. Today we have won 343 licenses and the team will have a total of over 400 members. Our delegation in Brazil, with the coaches and specialists, will comprise over 800 members," Zhukov told.
The 2016 Summer Olympics will be held in Rio de Janeiro on August 5-21.
