More than 11,000 law enforcement officers, interior forces servicemen, and volunteer patrolmen, will maintain public order at the sites of the May Day celebration in Moscow, the deputy head of the Moscow Police and chief of the Public Order Division, Vyacheslav Kozlov, told reporters on April 29.
"A total of 100 cultural and entertainment, public, sporting, and mass participation events, and of other natures, will be held in the territory of Moscow, on May 1. It is estimated that approximately one million Muscovites and visitors will attend these events," Kozlov said.
In Moscow, 36 public meetings, with an estimated overall number of participants of more than 144,000 people, are planned, he said.
"Over than 11,000 people, including law enforcement officers, interior forces servicemen and volunteer patrolmen, will provide security for public order," Kozlov said.
