Moscow believes there is no alternative to the Geneva-based intra-Syrian dialogue, aimed at settling the situation in this country, and is ready to cooperate with Washington in order to overcome the crisis at these talks, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on April 29.
"Russia has consistently been pursuing its policy in order for the negotiating process in Geneva to continue. It is extremely important to the Syrian settlement process. It has no alternative," Peskov said.
"Russia is absolutely open to cooperation with other countries that are interested [in this settlement], probably, first and foremost, with the U.S.," he said.
"In this case, all of the necessary contacts continue, although we see that the situation in the negotiating process is very tense," he said.
