Despite all efforts by medical workers, Russian serviceman died in Syria of serious wounds that he had received when he came under fire conducted by militants in the Homs province, a representative of the Russian airbase in Syria's Hmeimim told Interfax on May 11.
"In the Homs province Russian serviceman Anton Yerygin received severe wounds when he came under militant fire during his mission to accompany motor vehicles of the Russian center for reconciliation of the warring sides. The injured soldier was shortly admitted in a hospital where Russian military doctors spent 48 hours fighting for the life of Anton but failed to save him," the representative said.
