Follow the link to learn moreAn armed man has attacked a bank in eastern Moscow, a source in law enforcement agencies told Interfax on Wednesday.
At around 8:40 p.m. the man walked into a bank branch in Pervomaiskaya Street and demanded to be given cash, he said. The bank staff pressed the alarm button, following which the man barricaded himself with them in the office. It is thought there could be up to five people inside the bank.
According to the police, five staff members of the bank were released, but one to three people are still inside.
Law enforcement officers are at the scene. The parties have begun negotiations, the source said.
