Follow the link to learn moreRussian President Vladimir Putin has sent a telegram of condolences to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on the numerous civilian deaths in a series of terrorist attacks in the Latakia governorate, the Kremlin press service reported on May 23.
"The Russian head of state underscored that this tragedy has become a new sign of the barbarian and inhuman essence of terrorist groups who have triggered off a bloody war against the Syrian people. The Russian president reaffirmed his willingness to continue working together with Syrian partners in opposing the terrorist threat and expressed his confidence that the criminals who have stained their hands with the blood of innocent victims will not escape retribution," Putin's message says.
Putin offered his sincere sympathies to the families and beloved ones of the dead and wished those injured to recover soon, the Kremlin aid.
Seven blasts hit the Mediterranean coastal cities of Jabla and Tartus, killing more than 100 people, according to local police.
