The Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) has barred former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev from entering Ukraine for five years, SBU spokesperson Olena Hitlyanska told Interfax on May 26.

"It's true, we have barred [Gorbachev] for five years in the interests of national security, particularly for publicly supporting Crimea's military annexation," Hitlyanska said.

Earlier the Ukrayinska Pravda online publication reported with reference to its own source that SBU has imposed a five-year entry ban on Gorbachev.
