The Kremlin regrets that Turkey has not apologized for downing Russia's Sukhoi Su-24 bomber and has not paid compensation, Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"Just a few days after our pilot had been killed, the president said that after those aggressive and treacherous actions Russia was expecting an apology, an explanation of the causes of the incident and compensations for the downed plane and to the killed pilot's family," he told the press.
"We sincerely regret that the Turkish side has not taken any steps in that direction as of yet," Peskov said.
Peskov responded to the words of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan that he wished to normalize relations with Russia but did not know where to begin.
