Russian President Vladimir Putin has issued a decree to pardon Ukrainian citizens Hennadiy Afanasyev and Yuriy Soloshenko, the Kremlin press service said on June 14.
Interfax's source familiar with the situation earlier said that an airplane had taken off from Kiev in order to collect Afanasyev and Soloshenko and fly them home.
Afanasyev was sentenced by the Moscow City Court in December 2014 to seven years in high-security colony on terrorism charges, Soloshenko was sentenced in October 2015 to six years in high-security colony on espionage charges.
According to the statement, both pardon decrees come into force on the day of signing.
