Russia and South Korea do not accept the nuclear status of North Korea and will seek full implementation of the UN Security Council resolutions, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on June 13.
“We have confirmed both countries' commitment to the de-nuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. Russia and South Korea do not accept the self-proclaimed nuclear status of North Korea,” he told reporters on Monday following a meeting with his South Korean counterpart Yun Byung-se.
Lavrov said Russia and South Korea “emphasized the importance of the UN Security Council resolution in the interests of influencing Pyongyang and will seek its full implementation.”
