A Russian plane has airdropped 18 tons of humanitarian aid for residents of the Syrian city of Deir ez-Zor, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"A plane of a Russian airline has airdropped UN humanitarian cargo - food packages and cereals with a total weight of 18.3 tonnes - on the city of Deir ez-Zor besieged by terrorists," the Russian center for reconciliation of opposing sides in Syria said in its bulletin.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on its website that UN humanitarian supplies - foods and medicines - had been delivered by 35 trucks to the populated locality of al-Dar al-Kabirah in the Homs province with the assistance of the Russian reconciliation center.
"Humanitarian convoys are being prepared for the Syrian population. Humanitarian cargo - food packages and sweets for children - has been brought to disadvantaged families in the town of Khabar-Rash in the Aleppo province," the Russian ministry said.
