Follow the link to learn moreMoscow has strongly condemned a terrorist attack on the Jordanian-Syrian border and called for consolidating international efforts in fighting terrorism.
"We strongly condemn another terrorist sortie on Jordanian soil. We express our condolences to the relatives and beloved ones of the dead and wish those injured the soonest possible recovery," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement posted on its website on June 22.
"At the same time, we once again emphasize the pressing need for consolidating broad international efforts in opposing terrorist threats emanating from ISIL, al-Qaeda [terrorist groups banned in Russia] and extremist groups related to them, wherever they act," the ministry said.
A vehicle stuffed with explosives went off in the Rukban area on the Jordanian-Syrian border on June 21, killing six and injuring 14 Jordanian border guards.
"We reaffirm our unchanging support to the leadership and people of our friend, Jordan, in opposing the terrorist threat," it said.
