Putin and Erdogan to speak on phone on June 29

Russian President Vladimir Putin will speak with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the phone on June 29, Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

"A telephone conversation between President Putin and President Erdogan will take place tomorrow at the initiative of the Russian side," Peskov told the press.

Reporters asked Peskov, a Turkologist, whether the word 'sorry' in Erdogan's message composed in the Turkish language had the meaning of its translation into Russian. "There are no philological intricacies there," the presidential press secretary responded.

The word 'sorry' from the Russian-language text of the message "100% matches the Turkish language," Peskov said.

As to other questions regarding Russia-Turkey normalization prospects, Peskov urged the press to wait until the telephone conversation the two chiefs of state would have on June 29 afternoon.
