The Russian Football Union has declared Leonid Slutsky has stepped down as the chief coach of Russia’s national team.
"The RFU thanks Leonid Slutsky, who led the Russian team into the Euro 2016 Cup finals, for his professionalism and wishes him success in his career," the RFU said in a statement.
The Slutsky-led team took last, fourth place in group B after collecting one point in three matches. On June 11 Russia drew a game with England (1:1), on June 15 lost to Slovakia by one goal to two and on June 20 suffered a crushing 0:3 defeat in the last match against Wales.
