The Laotian government has invited Russian companies to participate in the construction of a Laos-Vietnam oil pipeline construction project and to develop a refinery, a representative of the Russian Ministry of Energy told TASS on July 11.
“We are aware of Laos’ interest in the participation of Russian companies in development of refining facilities in the country,” the official said. “A Laos government delegation held talks with the management of leading Russian oil and gas companies Rosneft, Lukoil and Gazprom EP International (a Gazprom subsidiary) in the second half of April 2016.”
Russian companies are currently studying these proposals in terms of economic viability, he added.
