The first Russian charter flight has left for the Turkish resort town of Antalya, according to the information posted on the flightradar24.com website on Sept. 2.
The first flight after a nine-month break in charter flights between Russia and Turkey is carried by Royal Flight airlines. Its Boeing 767 will deliver about 300 tourists to Turkey.
Azir Air will begin its flight program on Sept. 3, followed by Nord Wind and IFly.
On Aug. 28, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree on lifting a ban on charter flights between Russia and Turkey. Charter flights between the two countries were discontinued in late November 2015 after the incident with Russia’s Su-24 jet shot down by the Turkish Air Force.
