The migration problem cannot be solved exclusively in the format of the European Union, head of the Russian delegation to the autumn session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Skopje Andrei Klimov told TASS on Oct. 2.
"From what was said [at meetings of the OSCE PA], 80 percent was devoted to the migration crisis," head of the Russian delegation, deputy head of the Russian parliament’s upper house international affairs committee, said.
"Delegations from the EU countries expressed the position that it (the problem of refugees) is strictly their topic," said Klimov.
"The problem of refugees cannot be settled in the format of EU, but in the framework of the UN and OSCE [it is] possible," said the senator.
Klimov said that Canada has a similar position highlighting a global character of the probblem.
