Follow the link to learn moreThe Russian Foreign Ministry has spoken against the politicization of sports, the ministry will do everything in its power to ensure the Russian national team's participation in the Rio Olympics, Alexander Shchetinin, director of the Latin America Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said.
"We categorically oppose the politicization of sports, it should be outside politics, only for athletes and fans. The Russian national team should undoubtedly participate in the Olympics. We, the Russian Foreign Ministry, will do everything we need to do to ensure successful stay of our delegation in Rio," Shchetinin told Interfax on Monday.
