On the eve of a hot summer the Federal Agency for Air Forest Protection has started testing the Twin P2006 MMA multi-mission fixed-wing aircraft, which can spot forest fires from a distance of 60 km. Professional smokejumpers, or wild-land firefighters, will be able to get to forest fires faster.
