The exhibition is held by Multimedia Art Museum, Moscow, October 3 - November 8. In addition, the "Photo Archiving of Russian History" project exists not only in the form of a four-volume work entitled “Russia. 20th Century in Photographs,” but as a special online portal at www.russiainphoto.ru, where users can familiarize themselves with archival photographs (for ease of reference, they are divided into thematic groups, such as Transport, Architecture, Factories, Feasts, Holidays, Fashion, etc.), add their own photos, attribute images to authors, and create a personal virtual exhibition of favorite pictures.

The exhibition “Russia. 20th Century in Photographs: 1918-1940” presents works by some of the great masters of photography from the first half of the 20th century, including Alexander Rodchenko, Arkady Shaikhet, Boris Ignatovich, Ivan Shagin, Vladislav Mikosha, Mikhail Prekhner, and Georgy Zelma.

At a time of global upheaval and conflict, a greater awareness and appreciation of the history of one’s native land takes on added significance. This unique photo project, devised by the Moscow House of Photography, seeks to evoke in the mind’s eye an authentic representation of the events and individuals that graced the real historical stage.
