He was born in 1959 in Moscow, and career of the military has been predetermined for him since childhood. First, he graduated Moscow Aviation Institute (1977), followed by service as an officer in the Soviet Army.

Despite his initial success in the Army, Alexander abruptly changes his destiny. He retires in 1990 and chooses the path of the artist.
