The photos presented at the “Herbert Rothen. Red Square 1999. Streetlifephoto” exhibition show a city on the verge of a new life and a new reality. The exhibition runs till August 31, 2016, at
the Museum of Moscow.

It offers visitors a frozen glimpse of a rainy Russian summer back in 1999, full of optimism and happiness. According to Rothen, “Street photography can capture a snapshot of time, often just a fraction of a second.”
