My life in Russia: Soo Hur from Irvine, USA

"My life in Russia" is a video blog about expats living in Russia. In this blog, we present Russia from their points of view - how they adjust to local habits, how they adapt their everyday life, how they make friends. Meet Soo Hur, who is a Korean-American from Irvine, California, now living in Rostov-On-Don.
By Ricardo Marquina, special to RBTH

Soo Hur has been living in Rostov-on-Don, a city located 1073 km from Moscow, Russia. Soo is a keen traveler: before he moved to Rostov, he traveled in the Caucuses, Transcaucasia and Central Asia.

“I didn’t know anything about Rostov before I came here, but it’s not really a bad place to be. No matter what you are. Whether you’re not Russian or whether you don’t look European, it doesn’t matter. This place is pretty cool. Honestly, I would tell any foreigner, just come to Rostov and check out what Russia is really like,” Soo says.
