Folk Box: Music of the Udege

Each week Olga Shapovalova offers to folk music lovers a multicoloured display of customs and traditions, legends and tales, melodies and rythms of Russia.

Today our guest in the program is a tiny people, the Udege. They number just two thousand.

Udege is an amazingly calm and friendly folk. They are short in stature, with slanting eyes. They reside in a breathtakingly beautiful area on the banks of the lofty river Amur in the Far East of this country.
