Pskov is an ancient Russian town located 732 km northwest of Moscow and about 20 km of Estonian border. It is one of the oldest Russian settlements, which is first mentioned by some historical sources as early as 903.
Pskov still preserves much of its medieval edifices, including churches and walls. Its medieval citadel is called Krom or Kremlin, the length of its extant walls is 868 m. The Trinity Cathedral, which is located within the Krom, is the mother church of Pskov Eparchy. It was founded in 1138 and rebuilt in the 1690s.
