Su-24M frontline bomber: Specifications

The Russian Su-24 bomber aircraft crashed in Syria on Nov. 24. The plane was shot down by an air-to-air missile over Syrian territory and fell four kilometers from the border with Turkey. In 2014, the bombers began to be used by the Ukrainian army during the conflict in eastern Ukraine. In 2015, the Su-24M aircraft were employed by the Russian Air and Space Forces in Syria to fight against the Islamic State (a terrorist group banned in the Russian Federation)
