As Russian President Vladimir Putin declared the start of the withdrawal of Russian forces from Syria, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported on the achievements of the air campaign.
According to Shoigu, with Russian support from the air, Syrian forces have managed to retake control of 400 settlements and over 10,000 square kilometers (3,860 square miles) of territory in Syria.
