My life in Russia: Martin John Cooke from Yorkshire, England

"My life in Russia" is a video blog about expats living in Russia. This time we share the story of British actor and theatre director Martin John Cooke.

Martin Cooke is a British actor and director who has lived in Moscow since 2006. He graduated from the University of East Anglia as a theatre director. He was very inspired by Eastern European drama and considered Russia as the place where he should go to uncover the methods of the classical theatre. 

Since 2006 Cooke has worked in Moscow as director of the theater company, the Flying Banana Children’s Theater. He also participates in the projects Pure Useless Beauty and Theatre of Love. He has participated in various films and TV shows made by the BBC and the First Channel (Perviy Kanal), as well as doing voiceovers for videos, audiobooks and computer games.
