This year's exhibition presented a record number of exhibits, with more than 40 trains on display! The event was held to introduce the latest locomotives, train cars, special railway machinery and technological equipment produced by Russian and foreign railway engineering enterprises.

There was a special demonstration of all-terrain KamaZ vehicles working in an artificially-created harsh environment. The KamaZ Master is a vehicle purpose-built for rallying and a winner in international competitions, such as the Paris-Dakar Rally and the Silk Way Rally, and other events.

Double-decker passenger carriages, built to the latest technological specifications for equipment and materials, was exhibited in the show. Visitors also had an opportunity to take a ride themselves.

The exhibition-on-wheels rolled into action twice a day. The journey on the rolling exhibition lasted for an hour.

The purpose of the event is to showcase state-of-the-art rolling stock machinery and equipment produced by Russian and foreign engineering companies to the heads of national railway authorities of the CIS, Europe and Central Asia, as well as to railway operators and leasing companies, freight owners, and carriers.

International companies' active participation along with the event's scale and unique position in the 1520 space ensured that the attendance of senior level government officials, heads of relevant ministries and executives of leading European companies as honorary guests and delegates at the Salon.

The Salon's international status was confirmed by the presence of its exhibitors, including foreign companies. In addition to the countries that traditionally take part in the exhibition, newcomers at EXPO 1520 this year included Denmark and Israel. The achievements of the railway sector's top specialists were on view in the pavilions of France, Switzerland and the Czech Republic.
