Syrian opposition urges Russia to give up supporting al-Assad

Syrian oppositionists are inclined to have good relations with Russia, but the country should stop supporting the Syrian regime, representative of the Supreme Committee for Negotiations Monzer Makhous said.

"We want good relations with Russia, but the country should side with the Syrian people and stop supporting the regime," he told Interfax.

"Russia wants a political solution in Syria. We can see this now," Makhous said.
