The Toy Museum in Sergiyev Posad was founded in 1918 by painter and collector Nikolay Bartram. His Toy Museum was the first in Europe and became one of the most popular attractions in Russia. It is home to one of the biggest collection of toys of all ages and types, including ancient clay toys, toys that belonged to the royal family and toys from the Soviet period. More than 150 thousand showpieces are exhibited there.
