Air provides the only feasible means of transportation. Bears are the main inhabitants here. This nature reserve was created in 1934 and its current boundary includes over 10,000 square kilometers. It also holds a stunning creation of nature: Russia's only geyser basin, which has made the area known as the “Land of Fire and Ice.” Kamchatka’s mountains and numerous volcanoes, both active and extinct, including Eurasia's highest active volcano, Klyuchevskaya Sopka, which rises up to 4,750 meters above sea level.
