Follow the link to learn moreRussia will provide $2 million as a contribution to the budget of the UN development program for humanitarian assistance to the people of Syria, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a report posted on Twitter, citing a government decree of December 16.
"Provide in 2015 from the federal budget up to $2 million as a one-time target contribution to the budget of the UN development program for the financing of expenditures associated with the provision of urgent support to the people of Syria and restoration of the damaged infrastructure," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in the document.
According to the document, the Russian Foreign Ministry should inform the UN development program and the Syrian administration on "the contribution to the international efforts to provide humanitarian assistance: to Syria and approve the procedures for transferring the funding with the Russian Finance Ministry.
