On October 6, Kazan hosted a new and unusual competition under the name "Dirty Run." The venue was the Mamadyshky circuit, which is an arterial road in Kazan (capital of the Republic of Tatarstan).

The prototype for "Dirty Run 2012" was England's “Tough Guy” race.

The main objective of the organizers was to force the participants out of the comfort zone into overcoming a series of not overly complicated, but dirty obstacles.

Participants competed with each other to be the quickest and ablest over a course consisting of puddles, and bogs…

… they had to climb through piles of dirt, crawl along a wet road, battle through a stack of tyres, make their way across a log above a ravine, and generally wallow in mud.

The participants were free to choose their outfit. They included doctors in white coats, ballerinas, an astronaut, and even a mummy.

There was no shortage of spectators, who roared on their friends and acquaintances. The main purpose of the run was to help the boys and girls get a taste of real life and freedom.

The event was not competitive, but all stages have to be completed within a certain period of time. There were many joke activities.

The "athletes" had to run 100m along a path with bushes and tall grass before diving into a lake. Despite the cold weather, many took to it like a duck to water.

Approximately 100 people took part in the run.
